Modern western style shopping
Central Mall in Phuket Town has over 200shops and boutiques. It is serviced by most banks, food franchises, as well as a large Cinema Complex. It is shaped in a circle to easily get you lost! This place is busy, especially weekends, but it does have good aircoditioning, so its worth the crowds for some cool relief. You will need a few hours here just to see it all.
Shop with the locals.
Supercheap, our favourite Shopping "place". It was recently rebuilt after a fire razed the large chicken type shed it was in. Today it is more organised and laid out where you can more easily find stuff. It is said that if Super Cheap don't sell it, its not sold anywhere. Thats close to the truth. Parking is a pain...go with a Tour. Open early, closes late.
Chain Store in Phuket Town
Tesco Lotus is the Thai version of Tesco UK. The stores are found throughout Thailand. Phuket Town complex has a Home Pro, a bunch of Food Franchises and some boutique stores Pink Pvssy is here with lots of junk jewellery.
The other Chain Store
Big C has large, medium, small, and mini stores throughout Thailand and some other Asian countries.Most are supermarkets, but some have general merchandise as well. Its like a K Mart and Coles all in one. The complex also has a squillion Mobile phone Kiosks, a few Computer Shops (JIB is very good) and an Amorn for the blokes. Ample parking, but gets crowded on weekends.
The Factory Shops
Premium Outlet have centres in various major towns around Thailand. The Phuket precinct is located at the end of the Bypass Road. It covers a large area with ample parking and a large range of Brand Name Stores. Prices are not to different to your home but will probably have a different range.
Expo Shopping Mall
Expo is a single story building that houses a few hundred boutique stalls. The stallas are mainly fashion, and it will be hard to find L and XL sizes. Well worth a stop on your shopping tour as its Air Conditioned and not too crowded.
